While this has been a trying time with the world adjusting to our response to Covid-19, we also recognize the need for art as a human condition. This Friday, May 1, rather than a traditional First Friday in Fairbanks, we have elected for a virtual First Friday. The need for beauty and wonder is a human condition. Two Street Gallery was formed 8 years ago, as a collection of Interior Alaska artists who believed in the power of art in our community. Toward that end and in this time of uncertainty, celebrating who we are and the beauty that surrounds us is even more important. Thankfully, Alaskans have done well to combat the wide spread of Covid-19 and businesses are starting to open. Our gallery is a small intimate space and at this time, we feel it is best to offer our art and our patrons the opportunity to feed their souls absent the worry of a pandemic disease. We are delaying our physical opening until the next phase of recovery for Alaska to protect you and us from worry and anxiety. However, that does not stop us from enjoying art and a classic Fairbanks First Friday. It's just online and, well, what else do you have to do?!?So please join us with your cup of tea, locally sourced spirits, beer, wine or birch sap and peruse the fantastic art of Teresa Shannon. If you are interested in purchasing a piece to brighten your home and welcome spring, click on our Facebook page 2 Street Gallery. If you are interested in the art of our members go to our Shop page on our website at 2streetgallery.com. We are committed to shipping pieces out and look forward to hopefully greeting you with open arms at the gallery in THE coming months.
