PATRICIA WALSH

Making art is an expression of my joy in using my hands, heart and head to create, to make something.  It’s a process that is important to me. I’m endlessly curious about everything around me from what I see and hear, to how and why things work. Curiosity drives my work.  It is always a part of everything I do.

I have been creating and making, painting and drawing forever. Currently I’m exploring working with steel and mosaics. I plasma cut the metal by hand, weld pieces together and then experiment with surface techniques from rusting, using glass, acrylic paint and powder coating.

My education includes an art and design degree from the University of Illinois and course work at the Chicago Art Institute, Pilchuk Glass School, Penland School of Crafts and the Corning Glass Studio.  I presently live in Dillingham, Alaska.
