original kiln formed glass painting
There has been an owl outside my bedroom window lately which inspired me to create this glass wall piece. It is ready to hang; wire is fused into the glass so there is no worry that the mounting will ever slip. It is made of 2 layers of glass, black with a white overlay, then fired to 1465 degrees. Then Glassline paints were used to paint the background and it was fired a 2nd time. Finally, the owl was painted and the piece was fired a 3rd time. Glassline paints fuse completely to the glass, so it is permanent and waterproof.
